I completely agree with this evaluation. We are taking all the proper steps to becoming a "winning franchise" for years, not just a flash in the pan 1 and done team. Snead is doing a heck of a job getting us players, Fisher has on hell of a staff that can really coach football. Above all, Jeff Fisher is as good of a leader as you will find. You can no longer just get by on God Given talent...... This is the NFL.......You need to work, have desire to put in 100% effort in EVERYTHING from practice, film study, preparation, playbook, ect. Simply put, Fisher coached him. That's all I need to know. He knows his ability, his work ethic, his football IQ and how he is as a teammate. Fisher went and got a weapon and mismatch in Cook. It's not a roll of the dice and wishful thinking. He was targeted and signed early in FA. Think about it. 1. Last season we had only 1 rec the defense had to worry about and that was Givens. 2. This season we have Givens, Austin, Cook and Bailey....not to mention Petis. My god, who is the defense going to cover????? Now, throw in Quick, in his 2nd season and no longer a rookie. I'm telling you guys, we are scoring points!!!!! The offensive improvement on this squad is going to be HUGE! Like you said, Greg Z does not have to kick it into orbit every time he kicks a FG. The offense can sustain a drive and the "D" won't have to play with bad field position. That should be part of the arsenal IMHO..... Move Austin all around the offense, spread the "D: out then, quick hitter on first sound to any of our scat backs to pop it quick.......Not to mention some "Wildcat" formations.........This offensive team should be putting up a lot of points......Move the chains, keep our defense fresh......Best of all, Bradford is in his 4th year. The "D" gets better because now they will be playing less possessions, better field position, ect. Always thought I would be taking my kids to mini camp, rookie camp, 2 a days....ect. Then BAM! One day the Rams move from L.A. and it's all gone......It Sucks! I think it's simple.............Pead never experienced failure in football. That was the problem. He was probably always starting from PeeWee football to College. He was always the star. He got by on talent alone. He never really had to study the playbook or learn how to pass protect. He was usually one of the best players on the field..... Adding weight is not always a good thing. For example, when I was in College going into training camp the most I weighed was 175, but I could bench 325 and still run a 4.5. After 2 a days and going into the first game I was at 170 pds......I was a 5'8" cornerback. WOW!!!!!! I totally agree............Move Austin ALL AROUND in the offense and make the defense adjust accordingly. RB to WR to Slot to MOTION, the choices are endless...............Then, when the defense is on their heels, you just sit back and let Sam fling the football all over the field.
