Quotenicecatchellard He didn't have to make the big throw downfield took what was given and made the Patriots pay. This was a team ass whooping on the Patriots at all positions tonight. Quotemax Tonight’s game will be very interesting. I can see the Rams winning this game by sticking to the run and not turning the ball over, and letting the defense shine. Goff will manage the game, do nothing spectacular except win, and the skeptics and detractors will still have negative things to say about him. That’s the story on Jared Goff. QuoteClassicalwit My bad. I thought you were advocating for Rivers who is nearing the end of his career. That's why I was like, "At least suggest a younger dude." For the record, I think Phillip Rivers has been a very good QB.No, I respect Rivers but I've never been a fan. Someone suggested the Rams might get him as a backup if the Colts get Wentz and I don't think that's a possibilityby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemax Goff looks like a scrawny whimpy guy, but he’s tough as nails. He doesn’t miss games and he’s very rarely on the injury report. I heard Chris Long just say Goff is a tough kid who doesn’t get enough credit. Goff almost had his head torn off when he got his face mask ripped 180 degree on Sunday. Goff got up and we score 2 plays later. So somehow the word fluff and Goff in thby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteClassicalwit Would you consider RGIII? Or perhaps Kap?No and no, but what do they have to do with anything? I'm not suggesting the Rams go after Rivers but the idea that Rivers is "terrible" doesn't add up to me. Because if Rivers is terrible and Goff is producing less than Rivers, doesn't that suggest that Goff is worse than terrible? QuoteOhiorams Check Down Charlie.I don't think I agree. Checking down implies that Goff is being asked to work from high to low. To look for longer plays and then to settle if he has to. But I don't think that's the case. I think he is being asked to get the ball out quickly and to take what the defense gives. Dink and dunk, yes. QuoteRamsfsninmd ....but it does show Goff does care and does realize it is a lot on him and he has to get better for the Rams to get over the hump and win a Super Bowl....But what if you look at it from the other direction? Is it really such a good thing that we need a tome produced to assure us that our QB actually cares? You want to wax poetic for NFL films on a highlight reel, that's fine.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Glad people enjoyed the article but I found it to be a hyperbolic fluff piece. It's one thing to say that Rams fans should appreciate Goff but it's something else entirely to suggest that everyone else should be. That Goff is somehow worth mentioning in the same conversation ans MVP frontrunners? Good grief. And we're supposed to admire how Goff is his own man? WTF? QuoteSpeed_Kills good griefI'd amend that slightly. He missed anticipating it. While it's true that Goff threw the ball before Kupp actually opened up, watching it at the time seemed to me that Kupp was going to break open based on what the defense was doing, not that he opened up because Goff had already let go of the ball. QuoteJamesJM what could a team get for the #1 pick this next year. As much as Goff threw the ball against AZ, it was strangely more like McVay took away his decision making to some degree. Which IMO, would work against the likes of SF, NE, etc. Get the ball out quickly and let the playmakers make plays. They didn't do anything particularly amazing against the Cardinals they just focused on "positive" plays. Very few, if any, chunk plays but alwaysby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, I think he's just getting an early start on his off season. Jets are doing him a favor and by falling on his sword, so to speak, Gase hangs on for another week. We're stuck with Goff and he is what he is. We're blessed with McVay and he's limited by what Goff does on the field. There are just too many examples of McVay's plays presenting positive options that Goff just doesn't see or chooses not to utilize. The Chicago game in '18 for example. Time after time, Goff was forcing passes and not taking positive plays. That isn't a problem with playcalliby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
There's obviously been a lot of talk about Goff this week and I try to look at things from different perspectives to try and see things in context. Since the KC game in '18, Goff just hasn't been the same QB. Now, part of that is the ridiculous standard set by him the first half of '18. It's unfair to expect him to maintain the perfect storm level of standards from back then. So, I wonder iby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
