QuotePHDram what does this say to you? I also have noticed that he sits alone a lot, Wolford doesn't confer with him, the OC doesn't talk with him. He doesn't go up and down the bench talking to people. Quotemax But you’re missing the most important point. Goff only does poorly when McVay doesn’t prepare him well. See, McVay prepares him well for AZ and Seattle, but doesn’t for the Niners, Miami, and Pats. In others words, McVay is the hidden culprit behind Goffs poor performances. We gotta fix McVay before he ruins our franchise QB. :lol3It's almost like following politics, isn'by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
QuotePHDram if you dont like goff fine, so be it. but to suggest that he has no upside is ridiculous. the nfl is littered with qbs who blossom after 5 years with the most recent example being Ryan Tannehill. and just to name a few hall of famers....Drew Brees was average and injury prone in SD. QuoteMalibuRam How was McVay not handcuffed against Tampa, against Seattle? Golf played poorly against Miami and SF (Goff was a major factor in those losses). He out played well against all-time great QB's (Brady, Wilson) Miami and SF were both coming off a bye. They had more time to game plan against the Rams. I'm surprised McVay threw shade at Goff. QuoteCraigMatson Yeah the Rams drive before SF got Thier final drive hurt. The Niners lost 2 corners during the game. We showed we could run the ball earlier but the offence fizzled. Did the Niners have the all the Ram plays memorized or what ?. They clearly know us offencively and the way to get them besides being more efficient as Kupp said post game is to bring out something new. Caby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemax That’s a sobering thought. Mayfield has been getting tons of criticism. On the field he’s no worse than Goff, and I think he wins that game yesterday for us.That's a tough one. I really don't know what BM would look like in McVay's offense. BM's accuracy in drills was very surprising to me though. Kind of like Bernie Kosar. QuoteRamgator I thought he danced around the TG situation too much and has been way too easy on Goff. Thats what I loved about Spurrier when he Coached UF. But the message was CLEAR and had instant positive results. Spurrier would also calby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemax It’s not even fair debating this anymore. Only interesting thing going forward now is how do the Rams handle the Goff contract. Does Goff get the turnovers down to a point where they keep him another year or does he completely implode? Do they bring in a vet QB next year and bench Goff?I really doubt they get rid of Goff before 2022 but I would have bet a LOT of money that thby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Never a good sign when the QB is doubting himself and "thinking" instead of playing. Nor does it seem like a good thing that McVay is referring to Goff as "the QB". I mean, isn't it kind of suggestive that he is depersonalizing him like that? I don't listen to a lot of the press conferences so does McVay usually refer to players that way? I gave myself a headache I was so upset. My blood pressure must have gone through the roof. The last proverbial bullet I've got left in my gun is the hope that Goff is struggling through a learning curve and something for him eventually clicks. Quotezn No way they move on from a franchise qb after 3 bad games out of 11 in 2020. (It's 3 because I don't put the Bills loss on the offense.) QuoteClassicalwit This is correct. No one on offense has elite, top-end speed.Evidenced today with Akers' long run. Prime Gurley takes that to the house. Great run by Akers but it illustrates the difference between pretty good and great. Our stable is solid and workman-like, and we could probably win with that if our passing game was in better shape. Quotemax McVay must be at wits end dealing with Goff. All he asks him to do is not screw up and make a few simple throws and Goff can even do that. Goff is the 22nd ranked QB this year. Cousins had question marks but he was also playing for a dysfunctional team on the decline. I would guess that his stock was much higher than Goff's is right now. When he sustained the pro-bowl level of play after losing McVay as his OC, I think that really resonated with those in the know.
