He is security not a sure thing. The way I see the DBs breaking down.. I see Finnegan - Starter leader Jenkins - Starter playmaker Johnson - Dripping with raw ability McGee - Speed to burn and a worker - leader Pointer or Steeples - My guess is Steeples beats him out Rams keep 5 CBs and put one on the PS TJ - Starter day 1 - He will surprise many here who doubt him Stew - Ifby RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
I am not saying they should have resigned him, was just kinda shocked at the complete write off I guess. He got very little interest period, from anyone.... and most likely a vet min deal now. This new CBA is likely the best thing that could have happened to the league (NFL) not the NFLPA...with the rookie cap and all...but man are some of the marginal vets paying the price...these guys cant gby RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Thought at the very least he was serviceable last year...guess the Rams felt otherwise. He was a turnstile in KC and the fans wanted him gone, in watching the Rams last year I never thought he was great by any means...but he wasnt awful either like I expected.by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Suffer like Christ did??? Really Smith? Your a failed Football player...Maybe you just aren't any good? Religion is great, and I believe everybody has a relationship with a greater power all their own...Things like this just seem like a cop out...even if it was a lesson he has double digit millions in the bank for doing nothing...have a hard time with Smith saying his calling is to suffer....aby RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Amazing a kid with so much going for him could be in some big time trouble. All speculation at this point and he isnt charged with anything, but man it doesnt look good.by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Shirts and shorts and some are writing Quick off...so the whole 4th WR stuff was at best speculation...since there is no depth chart.by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Pretty awesome what the Rams are doing..by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Could have sworn we already discussed this one. Good player, smart but old and slow...fantastic tackler.by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Leaf was a well known @#$%& at Wazzu....frequently treating people / servers like complete garbage. Sounds like Mr. Football was a little frustrated to say the least, but one immature tweet doesnt touch Leaf or the kind of pompous arrogant jerk he was on campus after he had his success. My guess would be that at any given time most of us have said I cant wait to leave here (wherever that may bby RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Its OTA's before training camp in year 2....I just cant get worked up over anything yet...just like I couldnt get worked up that his rookie year was a wash. He showed ability and everybody knew he was raw...He went to App State where they dont even have a playbook??? To the NFL, he is taking some time to get up to speed. #4 out of OTA's means nothing...I will start to get more worried whenby RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Givens and Austin were expected...the unexpected was Pettis, and he has been roundly seen as the best WR on the team all through the OTA's. Not sure this is a big disappointment, sounds like even Shotty says Quick has been way better. Rather then being upset by him being #4 right now, I am thrilled that the Rams have this much good solid depth at WR, and that Pettis is starting to play betterby RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
One aspect that is underrated is simply the O being better, it effects so many things. The amount of time the d is on the field, they will be fresher, scoring more points plays to the Rams position of strength...the dline and pass rush. The Rams defense is in the second year of the system, last years rookies are now a bit more seasoned...speed! A LB core that doesn't show any glaring deficby RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Having a player like him as a back up speaks to the quality of the Rams starters. The depth on the team has improved ten fold since Snead and Fisher took over, simply amazing how quickly they have churned this roster. They must sit back have a drink and laugh at the pathetic job Spags and Devaney did building....cough...choke...sputter... the Rams roster before they got here. So nice toby RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
That even if the OC leaves the scheme will not change. He wants the same offense run for obvious reasons.by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
They get signed sealed and delivered and there are no more holdouts...so great...Thanks new CBA..by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
He was allowed to just run around at Georgia and make plays which I would imagine made him look lost on film at times...if your allowed to do that and you guess wrong it doesn't look good. My guess is he has very good football smarts and instincts, when you watched Georgia play he was one of the first guys you noticed cause he is always around the ball.by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Reaching out and having Williams as a mentor speaks volumes to me....You can't have a better mentor then him. My guess is Fisher has these great character ex Rams on speed dial...Bruce, Holt, Slater, Williams, Youngblood have all been back around the team in some shape or form since he took over...that's huge. Sooner or later the Rams will get burned and a player will make a mistake and peoby RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum

QuoteThe Professor Other teams may not need to cover him one on one. Our WRs have potential but right now we only have a #2 in Givens and a #3/4 in Pettis. Quick and the rookies have not shown anything at the NFL level. So until they do, teams can scheme to take away Cook if they view him as the #1 option. He can get covered with a LB or CB with a safety over the top. Until Quick, Austin, Bailey,by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Had an injury somewhere in his storied career that he couldn't "push through" if you have ever even had a hamstring tweak you know it's not something you can stretch and get through... I had it cramp once in two a days sprinting from the hash to the sideline and it felt like someone shot me in the back of the leg...I screamed out loud like a baby...hamstrings are the worst to hurt..by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
The light might have come on for Pettis going into his third year. He was a monster at Boise State every bit as effective as Titus Young...maybe it just took him a couple years to get his NFL legs. Truth will be seen soon enough....but it couldn't hurt to have Pettis turning it on now.by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Cook is a huge target and he is a walking mismatch for the Rams...too big and fast for DBS way to fast for LBs. Sam used Gresham big time at OU and while Kendrick's did come on last year he is no Cook/Gresham in size and overall athletic ability. Great point, I can see Cook having a huge year, other teams are going to be forced to cover him one on one and it won't be with a top cover guy for tby RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
This is when you typically see the soft tissue things start to crop up and it can hurt players getting ready for what really matters training camp and the real season. By Laying off them they can avoid some of the little dings and bruises and keep everyone healthy. Seems a good way to go about it, and a great way to get player to work through anything for their coach.by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Got a good guy to learn from and no pressure or controversy. Good guy gets a shot, I hope he makes the most of it.by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Givens has kinda been forgotten...when in reality he may be the best WR on the team and its not really even close right now imo.by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Were from the Post dispatch board I think. Fast Eddie, ZN, Grits and a few others....Including some of the current mods and admins. I came across the board in 98 when searching for other Rams boards then the PD board which was awful with trolls and jerks. Talked with Fast Eddie and went to the Herd Board and have been with it ever since at least as my main place for Rams fans.by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Just look at the kids arms, he is a worker and yea you can tell that from the picture...hard to not get excited about his future regardless of what happened last year...when you know he is willing to work like that to get his body ready to go...I am sure he will put in the mental work to become what the Rams expect.by RustyRay - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
