Better numbers equals more add dollars - better for networks and league. A large number of NFL games in primetime this year were the top rated programs of any kind.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
I see a lot of hand-wringing about the drop from 2 to 4. Not sure I see why. We start at home - which is nice. If we were to win (on guarantee - it's probably the Packers, but you never know what can happen this weekend. This year has been strange all season - just look at the Colts game yesterday. So if we do have to go to Green Bay does it matter if we go there in divisional round orby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Or couldn't block a run or pass to save his life. Is it that kind of figuring? What about our 12 wins - those coached didn't have the book and MCvay?by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
In the age of Bellicheck it's a tough bar - multiple SB appliances, multiple wins, but he is an anomaly. Mike McCarthy, Sean Peyton, Andy Reid. Mike Tomlin - all coached for many many years (some with the same team). All have a total of one SB win each in their careers. These are the top echelon coaches in the NFL. With McVay I think we have a very good coach, who runs the team the righby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Let's make you owner for a day. What head coaching prospects excite you right now? How about a QB - given our cap and draft position - who would you like to bring in?by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Seems to me how I remember it. They tried to move the ball and couldn't. Not like they took a kneeby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Broken tackles, D-line pushed around. the fullback is nice, but you don't need one to be good at running the ball. Very few teams use them anymore.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
But he had a run game, an ol-line and defense to bail him out. As far as the Stafford final pic - it was tough to watch but at that point we had already blown our best chances to win. In OT we had to have a TD - we let them walk down the field into field goal range, and eat near 8 minutes of the 10 minute overtime. If we had forced a punt, and only needed to drive to field goal, maybe heby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
They ran, a lot, even when they were getting zero or negative yards. They didn't go for any crazy anylitics 4th down tries. He did the smart, conservative thing by running the ball at the end and punting it away. They had a 99% chance to win when the 9ers punted them the ball at the end. So, that's bad playcalling? Instead of just dismissing me - why don't you put on your fake coaches hatby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
We went heavy with extra O-line and still couldn't run. Without push and blocking upfront - fullback won't get out of the backfieldby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't understand where you and other posters are coming from.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
The players cannot beat San Fran. Not since the 90's has one team dominated us like this. Different years, different players, same result. Phillips then Staley then Morris. Not sure what's going on. I don't think the playcalling is all that much different, it's the execution. Suddenly our o-line can't run block, can't pass protect and our D gets shoved aside in the second half. Missed tackby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
the 9'ers just won 'their' Super Bowl - beating us. They're good at that. Playing the rest of the league, especially teams with winning records - not as good at that.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Not sure why everyone is ripping him on the board. Scapegoat? At the end of the half, they were trying to get more points on the board, not run out the clock. I think this is the right, winning attitude. Is it McVay's fault that the O-line got manhandled all day? Play didn't work - clock was running, they punt it away. Our supposedly 'formidable' front then lets journeyman Jimmy traipseby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Underneath coverage was bad because Rapp was always a step late and Reeder is sometimes terrible at coverage. Then there was the well throw ball that doinked off of Higbee's hands and into the arms of the 9'ers D. The play design was good, the execution - awful.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
More so than coaching. The players need to execute - that means blocking, tackling, run fits, underneath coverage, etc. For some reason the players seem to have a hard time rising to the occasion against San Fran. The gameplans are sound - it's a similar gameplan that let them win 12 games this year. The offensive system was installed over the summer. Mostly I would say when Deebo orby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
He takes each game and builds a gameplan that he thinks will be most successful. I'm sure his gameplan doesn't contain a lot of 'Don't s'. His overall team record since he got here bears out his belief in what he does. You want exciting / competitive football - you have to take some stinkers in there. I'd rather be a 10plus team year in and year out with a few ugly performances thanby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Dallas was such a great team, top to bottom, and Green Bay had Farvre but just could never stop Emmit and that huge O-line. We got a lot of Giant games on TV in the northeast and they were the voice on so many of their games. Fond memories of those. He and Summeral were the best tandem for games, and still are head and shoulders above anyone else doing it today. Summeral's steady play by pby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Seems like he may be a more physical blocker than Jefferson. So when they want to run, they keep 3wr on the field but Skowronek is kind of taking the place of Blanton. If they go to a classic 2 TE set - kind of tips the defense to a run play.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Really enjoyed it. A lot of games I remember watching as a kid.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Anyone who works in a hospital in any state will tell you that the majority of the sickest patients and those that have to be intubated are unvaccinated. No one ever said vaccines will stop you from getting covid. What they do do, and quite effectively is vastly reduce the chance you'll need to be hospitalized with a severe case and / or die from it.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
He was forced into playing during the Covid losses and he made a habit of missing tackles and not defending the pass. I think we all found out why he's on the bench - he's not very good as a pro. Good college career doesn't mean much at the next level. You have to perform when you have a chance and he couldn'tby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
A developing defensive power? A smash mouth run team? An innovative passing attack? Playing hard is nice an all but when you only get - a team that was 5-11 before him and now is 2-13? That's an improvement?by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Like burning Man, but less fun. Only a dude could could coach one of the worst seasons in the NFL and talk tough and have people loving his 'attitude'. Interesting that he was hired before any of the playoff and SB coordinators were available. Not that they were a better choice, but he spent his coaching career as a TE coach. He wasn't know as the architect of a defense or offense. Would itby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Try this one on: McVay - Playoffs 4 of his 5 seasons as a head coach. 5 seasons with a winning record. Win percentage .688 Shanny - one playoff appearance and 2 winning seasons (counting this one) since 2017. He has a w-l percentage of .475 - kind of Fisher-esque. 'WTF'?by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
We're in the playoffs. Just like last year, when the 49'ers weren't. And...the year before that. If only Shanny could play the Rams 17 times a year - they'd be in the playoffs every year!by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
He has some physical skills and ball skills, but he seems to be out of position too often. Not good for as long as he's been in the league. Mostly he disappoints as, on paper, he should be better.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
No smoke and mirrors or jedi mind tricks. The 49'ers keep it simple and we didn't execute well. We lost 2 games to them under Staley and also - how many with Phillips as DC. This is not a coaching or coordinator issue but poor effort and execution by the players. Hopefully Ramsey and Miller can snap us out of the this funk with San Franby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
We've been out-hit and out hustled against San fran. that's a player issue not a McVay issue. Shanahan is not the DC. Shanahan didn't game plan a pick six and another short filed interception. Shanahan doesn't make the Rams miss blocks or tackles. that is on the players and I agree, the team needs to take matters into their own hands and play better and smarter. I don't think any of thisby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
By any metric McVay has been a very successful head coach. I would worry more about the Mike Zimmer's of the world. Dude looks lost in the few games I've seen of theirs, including the most recent MNF gameby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
