Agree, Hayes was the one I wanted to keep. Very important piece of the D, and obviously a great team guy. BCby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
In the NFL today the cap makes it impossible to stay good with a static roster: rising players want big contracts after 3-4 years and you just can't keep them all. So in the end you have to keep finding and developing young talent. With this FO and staff, the Rams have the winning formula: draft well and develop well. Keep rotating in good young talent with superior player evaluation and teachby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Lots of good comments here. The one that resonates with me is Merlin's love and affection. That's the one that counts. Merlin was a GOOD man, no controversy there. Case closed. BCby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
In the division we have 2 major rivals that read-option. The QB usually goes to the right. If Ogretree is strongside, he's the guy in their face. The other thing is TE coverage. The Rams have struggled with this big time. SLB is the guy to jam/cover the TE man to man. I think Fish wants to see if Ogletree can handle that. BCby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Exactly. The O better be constructed so that if anybody blitzes, THAT's where the hot read goes. And if it's Tavon, Cook or Givens, look out! This is where Sam's smarts, study, accuracy and quick release should come to the fore. If they blitz, pick the right read and hit him. Shottze had better design this O right. It's his big chance to show what he can do. BCby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Agree, 9-7. But they surprised me last year, so who knows. It's gonna be fun! BCby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
JoLon is going to be even better on the strong side. I hope we resign him. BCby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Covered, hit, tackled, INTs, caused fumbles, returned for TDs. He won some games all by himself. Great leader and example. BCby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
If either guard is there at 16 I'd take him. BPA people! BCby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum

Quoterampet the first round. I believe we will be surprised on draft day. I have a feeling it will look something like this: 1. Vacarro, S 2. Ogletree, LB 3. Warmack, G 4. Cooper, G 5. Fluker, OT 6. Lacey, RB I just have a feeling that WR is a 2nd round target for the Rams. The Rams first two picks, they will be looking for impact players. QuotePaulButcher59 1a) WR Cordarrelle Patterson, Tennessee (Austin is off the board and Patterson falls to #16, and Snisher does not pass on him) 1b) LB Alec Ogletree, Georgia (Fisher cannot contain himself here and almost took him at #16) 2) RB Eddie Lacy, Alabama (They considered taking him at #22, so they are high fiving big time) 3) SS Shamarko Thomas, Syracuse (Matt Elam type two roby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum

QuoteSpeed_Kills Yes But we are not The Rams won't be drafting Austin I wouldn't be at ALL surprised if the 49ers jumped us for Austen. To prevent US getting him if nothing else. BCby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
QuotePaulButcher59 1A- #16) WR Tavon Austin, West Virginia - 5084 174 Comments: I currently feel it`s a 50/50 chance if Austin is still on the board, but going to be optimistic with Patterson off the board. Most dynamic playmaker & game changer in this draft. He will be electrifying in the Edward Jones Dome. He can share the slot with Cook, line up in the backfield and return kicks. I'd take any of the following 5 picks before TAustin myself. Be thrilled if they are all there at 16, see what Fisher and Snead think. BCby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
QuoteTackleDummy You came close to nailing it except you should replace the word "need" with "want". If you did that you would have stated almost exactly what Snead has said. The Rams won't reach for a "want", but if multiple players are graded nearly equally at the top of their board they will choose the one that most nearly fits their "wants". This isby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
It would be tough for me to pass on either guard or Vaccaro. But Fisher and Snead know 100x more than me, so I'm gonna be happy with THEIR choices until proven otherwise. Like your list though. I like Patterson WAY better than TavonA: bigger, even trickier, and just as fast from what I've seen. Like what I hear about Hopkins too. BCby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
How about Patterson and Cooper? I'm a big O Line guy. Lots of Safeties (B Rambo 3rd), hopefully an RB fairly early. But bottom-line, in Snisher I trust. Their record is great so far. BCby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
There was never any chance the Rams could afford Mikell at his 2013 contract number. It was a given they would have to cut him if he didn't agree to a large pay cut. So I don't see it as a "mistake" that they had to do this when they needed money for Long and Cook, since it was going to happen anyway. I'd be thrilled to get him back if they can manage it. He's a very very good box safby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
QuoteRams43 QuotePaulButcher59 And more realistic than those who think the Rams might sign Jairus Byrd or William Moore. Landry fits the new Rams mentality and Fisher and Walton will love his versatility. What will the difference in cost be retaining Mikell or signing Landry? Obviously it would be a longer term deal. I would love to see Landry team up up with a draft pick such as Swearinby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
QuoteTonyHunter87 Not only does he have a screw loose, his defenses havent haven't been that great, IMO. Don't want him. SF underachieved badly under him. He built a good roster but pretty clear to me not a good HC. Not sure he would fit into the Fisher coaching group either. BCby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
QuoteNJRAM This team needs speed and weapon and this guy is a weapon, yes he is immature but he is only 23 and can be turned around, now the Rams do not have to reach for a WR in draft and have a guy into his 3rd year in the league Snisher knocked it out of the park on this one Totally. LOVE IT. Yes he was a problem child. But yes, he is a huge talent and just exactly the kind of talentby BC Ramsfan - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
QuoteSledrock Our defense is already close to SB caliber if not there already. Plugging the FS and OLB holes would make the NFC West OCs loose lots of sleep. Maybe build some DT depth later in the draft, too. I can live without an Ogletree if the Rams brass wants to lean more towards offense, but acquiring a top-notch FS is non-negotiable. :) Agree here.
