Actually there will be a spirited 6 way battle for starting guards (both LG & RG). The winners will do just fine.by TackleDummy - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
If the Jets cut Tebow what teams would take him? And would the use him as a qb? I don't think there is a NFL team that could use Tebow as a starting qb and I am not sure any could use him as the #2 qb.by TackleDummy - The Original HERD
It's always hard for an UDFA to make a roster. But two to four will make it. I did notice one thing about the Rams' UDFA this year. While the list is not yet complete, of the first 17 or so none of them are WRs. One might note, however, that several of the UDFAs will be on the practice squad. Probably all of the players the Rams drafted will be on the 53 man roster as they are all 5th rounby TackleDummy - The Original HERD
Kansas City needed a qb The Bills needed a qb The Eagles needed a qb Oakland needed a qb The Jets need to replace Sanchez Denver got rid of Tebow. The Jets tried to get rid of Tebow. Last year Pead was not "absent without leave" (AWOL). He was in fact following the rules of the NFL with full knowledge of the Rams -- and everyone else. To say he did so without leave does Pead, and others like him, a big disservice.by TackleDummy - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
I noticed the "competition at guard" comment also. I posted last week that Dahl was not safe because of his $4M salary. There are people who might be able to take his place on the roster.by TackleDummy - The Original HERD
No way would I want Tebow on my team. His college record not withstanding, he is not, and never will be, an NFL quarterback. He can run the pass option -- he just cannot pass. He might make it at a different position but that doesn't always work out either.by TackleDummy - The Original HERD

QuoteRamsfan I know this issue has been beat to death by everyone including me. But the issue will need to addressed in this year's draft because Saffold will most likely be gone after this year. You said Saffold will most likely be gone after this year. Based on what? Fisher said that Saffold would be a Ram for a long time. The only thing that I have heard that might indicate that is fromby TackleDummy - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
QuoteDeadpool Only LG seems to be a question, can Rok be the answer, I guess we will find out. Saffold can be and has been a good a RT, Long solidifies the LT and with Wells and Dahl 2/3rds of the interior is set. If the Rams cut Dahl they would save $4M in cap space and generate no dead money. QuoteJim Thomas Rams converted $6 million of Chris Long's scheduled $13.25 million base salary for 2013 into pro-rated roster bonus to free up money. It is worth noting that if the Rams had converted $12M of the $13.25M then the Rams would have saved $9M on this year's cap. But that money would still count against the cap in future years. Demoff converted only what the Rams need this year.by TackleDummy - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Just ain't going to happen three days before the draft. The pressers I will be looking forward to are the ones after each day of the draft and the one after the UDFAs have been signed. One question and answer I found interesting even if not informative. (All from memory so paraphrased) Question to Fisher: What is your thoughts about a short receiver? Answer by Fisher: If you have a talby TackleDummy - The Original HERD
Got to see his tape. Or at least a tryout. That is much more important than his combine type of results. Also don't know his age. Sounds like the guy who was let out of prison because he hadn't done the crime.by TackleDummy - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
Three positions on the Rams offensive line are set for 2013. Jake Long, LT Rodger Saffold, RT Scott Wells, C The Rams currently have 5 guards on their roster Harvey Dahl Shelley Smith Rokevious Watkins Chris Williams Brandon Washington It is likely that somewhere in the draft the Rams will draft another guard and will pick up a guard or two among the UDFAs. I loved Roy Green also. The answer to a trivia question: zero The question: How many passes did Roy Green catch in college as a WR? Roy Green was from Henderson State in Arkansas (where, at the time, I taught.) He played defensive back and ran back both punts and kicks in college but never played on offense. He scored numerous times via interceptions, kick returns, and punt returns.by TackleDummy - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
This was expected. The Rams need room to sign their draft choices, maybe a vet FA or two for backup, and some room when the season begins. Demoff said $3M cushion is needed for IR-ed players. When the season begins there will be 53 players on the roster + practice squad players + IR-ed players + dead money that will count against the cap I think all that happened is that Long will get a signiby TackleDummy - The Original HERD
From what I read, it is a 16M per year every year cap hit for 5 years. Most of it is salary. If he doesn't produce he can be cut. He will get his 2013 salary, but after that he has to prove his worth.by TackleDummy - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
For the Titans Cook played about 70% of the time in the slot. It has been, and still is, my feeling that Cook was signed to play much more in the slot for the Rams than at the end of the line. Kendricks will continue his role as an end-of-line TE. The Rams will, however, use motion to mix up the roles of Cook and Kendricks.by TackleDummy - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
The 49er #31 (600 pts) plus #34 (560 pts) plus #61(292 pts) would get them to the Jets #9. If the Jets do get #13 they might like these extra picks. The 49ers #31 (600 pts) plus #34 (560 pts) plus #61(292 pts) plus #74 (220 pts) would get them right between the Lions #5 and the Eagles #4.by TackleDummy - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
The 49er #31 (600 pts) plus #34 (560 pts) would get them to the Saints #15 (1150 pts), just ahead of the Rams. Don't know if either teams would pull this triger, but that is what the value chart says it is worth.by TackleDummy - Ramsrule.com Football Forum

The Chief's #1 is worth 3000 points The Ram's #16 is worth 1000 points The Ram's #46 is worth 440 points The Rams would have to throw in #22 (780 pts) plus a first rounder next year. That I wouldn't do. Would I take the deal you proposed? Yes, of course. Then I would trade down with the Eagles for their #4, #35 and #67 (total 2640 pts) or else I would take Sharrif Floyd.by TackleDummy - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
If this draft gets to #13 exactly as it has here the Rams fans will mostly get very excited. They would know that one of Austin, Patterson, and Varccaro would be available to the Rams. When the Rams come up at #16 two thirds of the Rams would be unhappy because their choice had already been taken. Considering the talk of Patterson and his rurmored bad interviews I wonder how the Rams haveby TackleDummy - The Original HERD
I wouldn't trade up for anybody. At this point the Rams need all of the draft choices they can get. The Rams have a lot of holes to fill on their roster. Rolling the dice on a single player at the expense of two or three others is not worth it. In three or four years, when the Rams have an excellent roster and need just one player to make a SB run then OK. But not now.by TackleDummy - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
QuoteRockRam unless Fisher and Snead see Cooper and /or Warmack as instant impact players and All-Pros within a year or two. Actually, a lot of the media people do see both Warmack and Cooper as "instant impact players and All-Pros within a year or two". That being said, I also don't see the Rams going OG in the first round. As you say, doesn't fit the profile of Fisher.by TackleDummy - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
There have been reports that the Atlanta might want to trade up from #30 to the Rams at #16. The Rams might be better with #30 + #60 + ? than the one player at #16 given where the value in this draft is. And it would be good for the Falcons since they are in a position where one player could make the difference (where the Rams need many players)by TackleDummy - Ramsrule.com Football Forum
