Last year the Rams carried 6 wide receivers and 4 running backs on their 53 man roster with one of each being inactive on game day. It's always hard for an UDFA to make a roster. But two to four will make it. I did notice one thing about the Rams' UDFA this year. While the list is not yet complete, of the first 17 or so none of them are WRs. One might note, however, that several of the UDFAs will be on the practice squad. I loved Roy Green also. The answer to a trivia question: zero The question: How many passes did Roy Green catch in college as a WR? Roy Green was from Henderson State in Arkansas (where, at the time, I taught.) He played defensive back and ran back both punts and kicks in college but never played on offense. This was expected. The Rams need room to sign their draft choices, maybe a vet FA or two for backup, and some room when the season begins. Demoff said $3M cushion is needed for IR-ed players. For the Titans Cook played about 70% of the time in the slot. It has been, and still is, my feeling that Cook was signed to play much more in the slot for the Rams than at the end of the line. If this draft gets to #13 exactly as it has here the Rams fans will mostly get very excited. They would know that one of Austin, Patterson, and Varccaro would be available to the Rams. When the Rams come up at #16 two thirds of the Rams would be unhappy because their choice had already been taken. I wouldn't trade up for anybody. At this point the Rams need all of the draft choices they can get. The Rams have a lot of holes to fill on their roster. Rolling the dice on a single player at the expense of two or three others is not worth it.
