Good value picks IMO. Rams are doing a very nice job in drafting highly talented players at need positions. That is the ideal combination: Talent at positions you need it most. Still good players available. Although we already have drafted two WRs I stilll have my eyes on Ryan Swope. Kid has a nice blend of size and speed and was productive in college. My hope for the two third rounders is for Swearinger or Rambo plus one out of the remaining group of WRs Hunter/Woods/Swope/Rogers/Patton. Or if no WR in the third round then how about a guy like Corey Fuller in the 4th or 5th ? Good size and speed combination (6-2 and 4.34). superb job by Snisher. they got two excellent playmakers by wheeling and dealing to perfection. Though I am a little worried about Austins ability to stay healthy in this violent sport, especially given the fact he is returning kicks too, his talent and explosiveness is unmatched. No , I am not oversimplyfing the WR situation. It is a FACT that we have only 3 WR on the roster who played last season. Your are not telling me the Rams will go into 2013 with them plus another rookie WR ?4 WRs that is ? If they do that the season is doomed already. but if you try and fail you have to try again and again until you get it right. And the perspective of going into 2013 with Givens, Pettis and Quick plus some more unproven rookies or low budget free agents is not to enticing. As everybody knows I have been rather critical of Sam Bradford but when the he§§ will they adress WR ? This has to stop. Now. Get the kid some proven weapons at WR. No one knows if Quick will come around in 2013 or if Givens can continue his nice progression. We all know that pettis is or should be a Nr. 4-6 . Only if the Rams give him some more weapons. Cook was a good start at TE and Jake Long will provide him with some extra protection and time to throw but the WR unit needs 3 more players. And talented ones who can go out and make some plays. Preferably two veterans plus a rookie first round pick (Patterson/Austin). HB and Lloyd IMO would be the two ideal veteran WR this team needs. One is the speedster on the outside , the other a proven possession guy known to make tough catches. Rookies and second rounders could learn a lot from those two guys. Rams would be wise to consider going that route. Rams have to get something done on the WR front if they have any thoughts of challenging for a playoff spot or even the division. Personally I would even prefer two free agents plus one first rounder instead of two rookies and one veteran. I would be happy if one of us falls to the Rams plus a veteran WR like HB . My dream scenario: Veteran free agent WR for a one year contract plus one WR in the first round plus another in the 2nd or 3rd round. With the other two picks out of the first four I would like them to go after S/OLB/O-line. From 4th round down I would go BPA all the way.
