"Spags is overrated - this team makes too many dumb mistakes"

It's time that Spags started being held accountable for the same stupid mistakes this team makes week after week.

Not to mention the offensive playcalling is so predictable and no adjustments are made whatsoever as evidenced by SJ being shut down in the 2nd half.

N.O. made 2nd half adjustments while the Rams didn't.

This team lacks talent, but questionable play-calling and stupid mistakes are a reflection of the coaching staff.

Spags is getting outcoached week after week.

they had a chance to beat the best team in the league today with half the talent...no one has been even been close to that team all year and the Rams were right there... You can't blame him for some BAD drops today that cost us...He has nothing to do with the play calling , which by the way wasn't bad today, cept at the end, but that could be Bulger or good defense...This team is getting better and I am proud of the way the fought today..Spags was coaching them up all day and that is something we havn't seen in a long time from a coach... three weeks ago, I would agree with you, but not today...

GO RAMS!!!

It's obviously true that the Rams have many needs to address in the offseason, but one that I must agree with is the need to replace whoever calls the plays.

He's getting out-talented. Give the dude a break man, he's turned over a massive chunk of the roster and not all of them are going to work out. This rebuilding project is going to require at least another offseason and draft to start showing some true gains.

Our defense is improving, and this team is being completely overhauled from a bunch of sissy quitters into a tough-nosed NFC profile. The Rams just hung tough tonight against a Saints team that is undefeated and far more talented than our own. Keep things in perspective IMO.

And that dumb check down pass by Spags to Jackson with time running out. And that dumb Red Zone INT Spags threw early in the game. And the way Spags missed those tackles and didn't stay in his lane on the KO return for a TD.

It's not Spags that needs to be held accountable, it's the players. But I think they are. But what are they going to do at this time of year? Play with 1 WR and cut the rest? Cut Bulger and Boller and play a rookie 6th round pick?

The play calling was fine. Execution suffered.

was beyond bad. The Rams call a timeout with a minute left inside the 10 against a team with an offense like NO.

Why not run that clock down to like 30 seconds on 2nd down and than call the timeout to set up a play? There were only 3 more plays max and the Rams had another timeout as well.

We got lucky NO didn't march down for a field goal.

Do what they did with Zorn and take play calling duties off him 9 games into his NFL career?

Take away his executive washroom key?

Make him wear a Dunces cap and stand in the corner?

Seriously dude, the Rams put up a helluva fight today against a team that has been blowing by people for fun and is way more talented even with the injuries they have.

Spags has this team moving in the right direction and has the respect of the players and doing anything like reprimanding him risks undermining his credibility.

I'm not sure how many adjustments we could have made in the 2nd half with the WR corps and QB we have. Seriously, what did you expect them to do?

Team played hard and well, they were very well prepared and had a great game plan while coming up a bit short.

Spags has this going in the right direction.

He has already rebuilt the OL to be good, this will get better and has

I'm sure you're celebrating a moral victory tonight, right Tim?

This team is poorly coached and some of you refuse to see it despite the 1-8 record.

So go ahead and use that "ignore" button and keep your head buried in the sand, or wherever it is that you stick it.

Gotta say it, but there are to many idiots on this board. Have you ever played or coached the game? I have! You don't know what you are talking about. Spags has this team headed in the right direction. We played a hell of a game today. I remember seeing at half time we only had 2 penalties against us. Definite progress. Even Bulger scrambled and gave his body up today. Thought the offensive line did well for the most part. We held the best offense to 28 points? And we are frickin rebuilding. Solid effort starting the second half of the season.

I have no dilusions this team needs improvement. Today is just not the day to rain on their parade. They have set expectations higher for next week so If they regress then I will revisit the failures of today but I must be fair. I knocked the trade of WW for the WR and I am happy for his initial showing so far. I would love to have a 3rd rounder for Will but that is another issue for another day. We need to build on today. To go from Detroit to Saints you have to say this was an improvement.

SJ was a man today. I would have ran more on the Left side as he was more productive running left.

Bulger was serviceable and played like a nice back-up but lets not get twisted that Marc kept us in the game or made plays he should not have. This was his best game and I am certain he can build on that even better if he commits to it. He still plays it very safe and he also does not know how to get out of a bad play. Not sure how much our OC had to do with some of the stuff but I will say this was a laudible performance in a losing cause so I guess this is my kind and gentle post.

2009 will be "the year of the coach" - Wasn't that the biggest need to be filled since discovering that "this team's got talent!" right?

I'm not against calling anyone out but this isn't right. First of all, the Rams didn't need to make adjustments. They won this game if not for a returned kick for a TD. Second, what adjustments did NO make? They didn't shut down SJ. They focused on him some and got burned by the Rams passing attack (which was an adjustment by the Rams).

Look at how many yards the Rams put up in the 2nd half and how many the Saints put up in the 2nd half and tell me which team adjusted and which team didn't.

lol...what are you talking about...take away the damn KO return and the Rams outscored the great Saints offense and out gained them...Bulger made some horrible desicions at the end of the game that killed us...You picked the wrong game to start bashing Spags my friend...as you can tell by the responses you are getting...

about Spags being a very good or maybe excellent coach, who needs some playmakers to show his true ability. I agree. How do you coach 'stupid?' How do you coach Bulger not to throw into triple coverage or just throw it out of bounds or just spike it, stupid! How do you coach guys to catch the ball, which is the stuff that is coached in pee week football.
