After many user requests, and much deliberation between the Admin team members, we’ve decided to make a change in message board software.

While we understand the common reaction to change is not always positive, we’ve gone to great lengths to get the new software implemented, modified and tested so that this upgrade and move should be as pain free and seamless as possible.

The software has some great new features that will make our community an even better place to share time with your HERD brethren-

- The ability to embed video into posts
- Poster ignore feature
- Spell checking
- Custom avatar uploading
- “Block” style quoting
- Auto image resizing for large pictures to eliminate distorting
- RSS capabilities
- A much more mobile-device friendly layout
- A plethora of other changes

With that being said, there are some things that you, the users, need to be aware of-

- You will need to re-register on the new forums. We will monitor the registration process and any issues with user names being taken by an individual that wasn’t registered as that user here on the old software will be reviewed by the Admin team. Email us at ramsadmin@gmail.com with any registration problems.
- We will not be converting any of the posts here. Instead, we will lock these forums on 11/20 @ 8:00 PM EST. They will become an archive, and will not be deleted or removed. We will be sure to leave a pinned post on the top of all the old boards letting people know what we’ve done, and where we’ve moved to.
- Once you’ve registered, please head to the Help and Support forum on the new system and review the help videos that JamesJM has put together (they’re in a pinned post at the top of that forum). They’ll give you some excellent info on several of the key changes that you’ll be initially confronted with and will give you step by step instructions on how to accomplish these tasks on the new software. I cant stress enough how much easier your transition over to the new software will be by spending 10 minutes watching these – they’re a must-see IMO.
